Roger Federer stopped Denis Kudla, with 7-6 (1), 7-5, in the semifinals of Gerry Weber Open. He qualified for the 149th final of his career and is now a victory away of his 99th title and a historic 10th trophy in Halle, something he hasn’t done in any other tournament in his career.
This was Federer’s 20th consecutive victory on the grass and tomorrow he will try to conquer his 4th consecutive title on green surfaces and the 19th overall. He is the first with a big difference in this category, since the 2nd, Pete Sampras, stopped his career with 10 titles on the grass.
In the final tomorrow at 11:00, Federer will face Borna Coric after an injury problem put Roberto Bautista Agut out of line on the German Open at 3-2 in his first set in favor.
Borna Coric, who is also excellent in the grass so far, will face Roger Federer for the second time in this season after the amazing semi-final that they played earlier in the year at Indian Wells.
