In the first final of the day, Polona Hercog prevailed over Iga Świątek, and reached the third WTA title of her career. In the final of the Samsung Open, in Lugano, Switzerland, the two tennis players, among others, had to cope with the bitter cold. In the match, the 28-year-old Hercog had a longer run and despite Świątek’s equalizer, she did not lose her temper, dominating the last and decisive set with 6-3, giving her the title. On the other hand, at the age of 17, Świątek did not complete the miracle, but she certainly showed very good figures and will certainly be of concern to us in the near future. For now, she has already made it into the top 100 of the world ranking.
In the final that followed, Benoît Paire had an unexpectedly easy job, winning over last year’s winner of the tournament, Pablo Andújar with 6-2, 6-3 reaching the second ATP title of his career again on a clay.
