Alexander Zverev made his biggest victory in his career so far as he won the absolute favorite Novak Djokovic with 6-4, 6-3 in the ATP Finals final, last night in London.
The Serbian had reached the final without losing a set and hoped to win his 6th ATP Finals title, completing a dream year that finds him in No. 1 of the world ranking. He was definitely the absolute favorite and this defeat certainly hurt him.
But he faced an excellent Zverev, who became the first German to conquer this title after Boris Becker in 1995. The German was determined and well-read from the start of the game, continuing the amazing performances since the semi-final with Federer. At the same time, he kept his temper in all critical points and finally reached this historic victory.
