Qatar Total Open – Semifinals

Two ambiguous battles are expected today for the semi-finals of the Qatar Total Open with the view to tomorrow’s final.

Specifically in about an hour from now the No. 1 of the board, Simona Halep faces the No 4 of the board Elina Svitolina. Svitolina excels with 4 wins against Halep’s 2 wins in their betwwen games. Both of these victories came to the finals of the Italian Open in 2017 and 2018, giving the title to the 24-year-old from Ukraine. The favorite, however, remains the most experienced Halep, who will want to prove superiority and achieve a great victory over her opponent.

The other pair of semifinals is between Angelique Kerber and Elise Mertens, who will meet for the first time in the WTA tour, with the 31-year-old Kerber being the absolute favorite against the far-fetched 23-year-old Mertens.
