The sixth day of the Roland Garros in Paris was extremely enjoyable, with exciting games and several surprises.
In men’s category, No. 4 of the board, Grigor Dimitrov was eliminated by an excellent Fernando Verdasco with 3-0 sets (7-6, 6-2, 6-4) and he left early in the tournament. Pablo Carreño Busta, who was ahead of the Italian, Marco Cecchinato, lost 3-1 sets (2-6, 7-6, 6-3, 6-1).
Against an early retirement, Zverev, No. 2, was on the board, since even though he was ahead with 1-0 set, Bosnian opponent Dzumhur overturned the score and was just one game away from the big qualification. German took the 4th set with 7-6 and eventually continued his lead in Paris with the last winning set with 7-5.
In the other games of the day, Thiem and Djokovic, although having a hard time, qualified against Berrettini and Bautista Agut respectively with 3-1 sets.
Japanese Kei Nishikori had the easiest job winning with a 3-0 set Simon from France.
