Tsitsipas said goodbye to US Open

After a tiring four-hour stint, the Greek tennis player failed to turn the match around in his favor and thus bid farewell to the US Open, losing for the second time in the first round of the grand slam. Former Andrey Rublev won the race and got the 2nd round ticket with 6-4, 6-7 (5), 7-6 (7), 7-5 within 3 hours and 54 minutes.

The 21-year-old Stefanos, despite complaining several times about pain in his waist and showing himself suffering from severe cramps during the race, did not stop fighting and returned from game 0-40 in the 3rd game to keep his serve and reach the finish line. 2-1.

In Round 2 of the US Open, the 21-year-old Russian tennis player will face 34-year-old Frenchman Gilles Simon. His race is expected to start on Thursday 29/8.
