Stefanos Tsitsipas continues strong in the tournament held in the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
After winning the Open 13 in Marseille, the Greek champion is heading for another final. In today’s quarter-final, he beat Hurkacz with 7-6 (4), 6 (1) -7, 6-1 and secured his place in the last four of the tournament. The 20-year-old Greek had faced the Polish a week ago in Marseilles in round 2, winning easier that game with 6-4, 6-2. In today’s match, Hurkacz made it difficult for Tsitsipas, as he managed to tie, after the first set loss in the tie-break. In the third and most decisive set, however, Tsitsipas was excellent and left no room for the Polish to react.
In tomorrow’s semifinal , Tsitsipas will face the Frenchman Gaël Monfils, who is also in excellent condition, having already won the title in Rotterdam, while he has prevailed over Tsitsipas with 6-3, 7-6 (5) in the quarterfinals of Sofia Open.
Roger Federer, who won the Hungarian Márton Fucsovics with 7-6 (6), 6-4, is also in the last 4 of the Dubai Tennis Championships and is waiting for the winner of the match between Borna Ćorić and Nikoloz Basilashvili.
