Tsitsipas loses the thriller.

In a high-level thriller match with many reversals, Stefanos Tsitsipas lost to Denis Shapovalov in the super tie break and missed the opportunity to qualify for the eighth place of the Miami Open.

The Greek champion started out with the best possible conditions in the race and giving a superb take on the first set with 6-4. But then he showed off to rest and Canadian Shapovalov took advantage of it by winning the second set with 6-3. The last set turned into a real thriller with both opponents reaching 6-6 and the super tie tie. There Shapovalov took the lead with 3-0 but Tsitsipas managed to tie in 3-3. But then he lost the 4 consecutive points, resulting in the set and victory ending in the hands of the 19-year-old Canadian.
