With the two men’s finals for the Chengdu Open Men and Shenzen Open, ATP’s 39th week and first at the Southeast Asia ended today.
The big winner at Chengdu Open was the Australian Bernard Tomic, who started from the qualifying round of the tournament and reached up to the final, where he beat No1 on the board, Italian Fabio Fognini with 6-1, 3-6, 7- 6 (7).
At the Shenzen Open, Japanese Yoshihito Nishioka won the French Pierre-Hugues Herbert with 7-5, 2-6, 6-4 and won his first ATP title.
The WTA week was completed yesterday with the Wuhan Open final. There, Belarussian Aryna Sabalenka conquered her second consecutive WTA title in the series after the one in New Haven in August, without dropping a single set. At yesterday’s final she won 6-3, 6-3 against Estonian Anett Kontaveit.
